Australia is ranked
ninth on our list of major market P/E ratios.
The figures were compiled at the end of
July 2002 and are based on historical not
forward earnings estimates. While forward
estimates would be preferable, obtaining
the necessary data for the smaller markets
is very difficult. However, the numbers
and rankings are unlikely to change dramatically
given the current modest outlook for corporate
earnings growth.
