Brokers see the bright side

Despite recent concerns about the US economic outlook, Australian brokers are continuing to lift their corporate earnings estimates. The Wren Research survey for May-02 shows expected earnings growth of 12.7% for the next twelve months, up from 12.3% in the Apr-02 survey and 8.8% in May-01. Analysts have raised their earnings per share (EPS) forecasts each month this calendar year.
