Inc - One of the the best sources
of information on gold and other precious
metals. It has live prices, market reports,
message boards and plenty of historical

gold price data and other trading statistics
on the London gold market.
R&C
Research - Fantastic site for free
historical data on commodity and financial
futures.

Board of Trade (NYBOT) - Market
information and historical data for coffee,
sugar, cocoa and cotton.

Metal Exchange - Impressive array
of graphs, data and market statistics.
CorporateInformation - Great information
on major corporates from around the world
and it's free. Highly recommended.
First Call - Because it's a commercial
site, they don't give too much away for
free but the market commentary section is
sometimes interesting.
Zacks
Investment Research - Zacks aims
to 'empower and educate' the individual
investor. Plenty of free stuff on US stocks.
Australian
Financial Services Directory - The
subsection on Listed Public Companies has
some good links to corporate web sites.
Egoli
- One of the best all-round Australian finance
sites. Lots of free stock research, CEO
interviews and market reports.
Vanguard
Australia - Investor education section
provides some great information with a refreshing
lack of sales hype and gimmicks.
AMG
Data Services - AMG collects data
on fund flows in the US mutual fund industry.
Most of the site is restricted to subscribers,
but the news and archives sections often
have some useful snippets of information.
NASDAQ
- Has NASDAQ market data in multiple
download formats going back to 1971. Apart
from share indices, the files contain a
complete range of market statistics. Great
site!
NYSE
MarketInfo - Data library has excellent
long-term time series on New York Stock
Exchange indices and other trading statistics.
Vickers
Stock Research Corporation - Vickers
produce the Weekly Insider Report, a newsletter
which summarises what insiders (i.e. directors
and company officers) are doing with their
corporate shares. It has a graph of recent
trends on the home page.
Yahoo!
Finance - Provides an interactive
charting option which allows you to download
data into a spreadsheet.
Bloomberg
- Good information on international
bond yields and all segments of the US fixed
interest market.
BradyNet
- One of the few really comprehensive
sites dealing with emerging market debt
securities. Has a chat room and you can
even buy and sell bonds.
Mark
Bernkopf's Central Banking Resource Center
- Very useful links site to the world's
central banks. One of the best places to
find international fixed interest statistics.
OANDA
- Specialises in currency charts, data and
commentary. Excellent site for historical
foreign exchange rates.
Tokyo
Grain Exchange - Lots of historical
futures market data and links to other commodity-related
sites.
Sydney
Futures Exchange - Plenty of good
historical data and delayed price information.

- Perhaps the best economics link directory.

- OECD's updated web site is much better
than its predecessor. Excellent source of
international economic and financial information.

Market Association -Links page to
bond market news and statistics. More focused
on US than other international markets.

Data Finder - Comprehensive listing
of financial market web sites. The text-based
version is easier to use than the search
engine.
The
BlackStump - Links to finance and
general web sites. Approximately 800 topic
categories.

- Market commentary is comprehensive
and easy-to-read.
Lycos
Finance - Neat layout, with lots
of information. Well-designed charting package,
industry research and economic calendar.
Reuters
- International news and financial market
information with less of a US focus than
other organisations.
Newsday
- Easy-to-navigate site with great coverage
of world business news.
Japan
Times - Publisher of the English
language newspaper in Japan since 1897.
Covers most of the big business stories.
Drudge
Report - Matt Drudge is credited
with breaking the Clinton/Lewinsky story.
Specialises in hearsay, leaks and gossip.
Site has great links.
The
Online NewsHour - Web site of the
US television program, 'The NewsHour with
Jim Lehrer'. If you don't watch the show
on SBS, you should.
Download.com
- literally thousands of freeware and
shareware programs to download.
Quantitative
Micro Software - QMS produces Eviews,
a statistical and econometric modeling program.
It has lots of features but is expensive
unless you're a student.
Imatix
- great selection of open source software
for web developers. The Imatix web server,
Xitami, can run on most operating systems
and allows you to test your web site and
CGI scripts off-line.
ANZ Job Advertisements - Latest
media releases for the ANZ Bank's job advertisements
series.

Bank of Australia - Probably the
best place to find historical economic and
financial data on Australia.

Excellent financial market database.

and financial data on the Brazilian economy.

data on most of the major economic indicators
but some of the material is not in English.

of statistics but it takes some time to
get used to the database layout.

Nemzeti Bank - National Bank of
Hungary site has plenty of statistical information,
including an impressive range of stock market
and investment fund data.

du Liban - Up-to-date financial,
economic and general information about Lebanon.
Narodowy
Bank Polski - National Bank of
Poland has a good selection of time series
data and daily information on shares, foreign
exchange and interest rates.

Bank of the Russian Federation -
Useful financial market database and a weekly
statistical bulletin on the stock market.

- Bank of Slovenia has a comprehensive
archive of financial data and a wide selection
of macroeconomic and securities market indicators.
Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey
- Has a massive amount of information but
you need persistence to figure out the Electronic
Data Delivery System (EDDS).
Reserve
Bank of India - Extremely slow
site, especially during business hours.
Contains nearly every report, bulletin,
speech and press release ever written by
the Bank.

of Korea - Searchable database
of economic and financial statistics going
back to about 1960.

Sentral ng Pilipinas - Has most
of the key statistical indicators on the
Philippines economy, including daily interest
and exchange rate data.

and financial indicators. Some of the pages
are slow to load.
European
Central Bank - Extensive collection
of press releases, speeches and statistical
publications about euro zone countries.
Eurostat
- Best source of up-to-date European
and euro zone statistics. Some data is subscription-only
but most of the key indicators are free.
IFO Institute
for Economic Research - Each month
the German-based IFO surveys more than 7,000
enterprises to produce its business climate
index.
Federal
Statistical Office Germany - Contains
recent monthly and quarterly statistics
on the German economy.
Istituto
di studi e analisi economica (ISAE)
- Very useful site with lots of free survey
information on the Italian economy.
ISTAT
- Basic information on the Italian economy.
The site has an English version but most
of the link pages are written in Italian.
Nikko Bond Performance Index - Need
to register before you can access the historical
data but it's worthwhile if you're interested
in Japanese fixed interest markets.

data is available for most time series.

Databank - Statistics on corporate
bankruptcies and tax filings.
Institute
of Supply Management - The Institute
produces the closely-watched ISM Index (formerly
the NAPM Index), a monthly indicator of
US manufacturing activity.
Economic
Statistics Briefing Room - Excellent
starting point for up-to-date economic and
financial statistics on the US economy.
Federal
Reserve Economic Database (FRED) -
Massive collection of historical data on
the US economy, banking system and financial
markets. Fantastic site.
Economagic-
Time series data on nearly every major US
economic indicator.
Office
of Management and Budget - US Executive
Office responsible for the US Federal Budget.
Detailed statistics on the US fiscal situation.
Air
Cargo World - Although this is the
web-equivalent of an industry publication,
it often has interesting stories on transport
and manufacturing trends around the world.

Exchange Links - Links to 145 stock
exchanges around the world.
Qualisteam
- Some interesting links to world stock
exchanges and other finance sites. Good
starting place if you want to get financial
data on a particular country.
